Talk us through your brow industry journey - How did you get started?

Long before brows became a mainstream obsession, I was already deeply fixated on them due to my sister, who was a true artist when it came to perfecting brows. From as early as 2005 when I was 10, we would constantly debate at how we would enhance the brows of people we saw in public. At 14, in 2009, I officially entered the beauty industry, beginning my journey at our mothers salon. Over time, my interests expanded, I ventured into makeup in 2016 and later explored lash extensions and diverse brow treatments. However, it wasn't until 2022 that I made the leap to specialise solely as a Brow Artist.

What inspired you to get into education?

I was more so encouraged into the education realm by individuals who were eager to learn my skills and techniques after coming across my content on TikTok and Instagram. With my online presence expanding, so did the demand for my expertise. Experiencing the fulfillment of helping others advance in their careers solidified my commitment to this path, motivating me to impact even more aspiring artists.

How is your world tour going? What can people expect from your in-person masterclasses?

Over the last 18 months, we've embarked on journeys to 9 different countries to conduct in-person teaching sessions. The experience of teaching face to face holds a special place in my heart, and I cherish the opportunity to do so in various locations. Surprisingly, we've conducted more training classes overseas than in our own country. Looking ahead, our goal is to strike a balance between catering to our cherished Australian students and those from around the globe.

Can you talk us through the decision to expand your education business and stop taking clients?

Discovering and pursuing your true passion as a career is truly special and a dream come true and overtime I have found that passion is fluid and is forever evolving. As I delved deeper into the education realm, I realised my heart was fully committed to it. I thrived in this area due to the fulfilling experience of having an impact on others career journeys. I was also eager for a lifestyle that was more flexible and allowed me to travel and educate in different countries. This realisation inspired me to transition into full-time education, fulfilling both my passion for teaching and my dream to explore the world.

What’s a piece of business advice that you would give your younger self?

Patience. This is something I still am trying to master. But I know that good things come with time and trying to rush into something without giving it any real consideration, can force you down a path that doesn’t align with your souls purpose and is not beneficial to who you are and what you are destined for.

Do you have any client horror stories? 💀

In a watch-and-learn live masterclass, a student volunteered as a model replacement when the original model failed to arrive. I verified her approval for me to demonstrate the precise techniques needed to achieve our Hybrid Brow Dye style to the class. However, a week later, she turned hostile, demanding a refund and free access to all my online classes, outraged over trimming her brows. Despite refunding her ticket, she continued to persistently harass me.

What are your favourite products right now? And why?

The Boo Beauty Deluxe Balm. This is for hair health benefits. I firmly advocate for including hydration and bond-building treatments alongside any lamination procedure without fail! Similar to how hair salons prioritise hair treatments post-chemical processes, it's crucial to reinforce hair integrity post-lamination.treatment to increase the integrity of the hair health after the hair bonds have been weakened.

You’re stranded on a desert island, what's one brow/lash product you couldn’t live without and why?

A brow gel of course! Because there’s no way I’m letting those babies look messy!

What tips would you give a budding brow/lash artist to help them grow their socials?

Build a relationship and trust within your community by letting people see your true self. Building relationships encourages a supportive community, which holds more significance than mere follower numbers.
