Hi Lip Queen! My name is Ashlee Boundy and I am the owner of Ashlee Laura Artistry.
I’ve been in the beauty industry since I was 16, starting out as a hairdresser. Over the years, I’ve worked in many different aspects of beauty, but after eight years as a makeup artist, I knew I wanted something more.
In 2018, I discovered permanent makeup and signed up for my first beginner course. I set up a little studio in the spare room of my house and started taking on as many clients as I could at super affordable prices – I just wanted to practice, learn, and get as much experience as possible.
When Melbourne went into lockdown in 2020, it finally gave me the chance to focus on something I’d been wanting to learn for years – lip blush tattooing. I jumped into an online course, practiced non-stop, and as soon as we came out of lockdown, I took on as many lip models as I could. I quickly realized that lips were my passion and, to my surprise, something I was naturally really good at!
Since then, I’ve invested in over 40 advanced trainings with world-renowned artists, learning everything from techniques and skin anatomy to pigments and business strategies. I’ve been through the challenges – working with tricky skin types, figuring out what works, and constantly improving my skills. I’ve seen firsthand how education has completely transformed my work, my confidence, and my business. Knowledge truly is power, and I’ll never stop learning and evolving.
After six years in cosmetic tattooing and 15 years in the beauty industry, I’m so passionate about helping other beauty professionals achieve their goals. I’ve been through the struggles, the self-doubt, and the hard lessons – but I’ve also experienced the incredible rewards. You don’t have to figure it all out alone.
